Dr. Elizabeth Wynter is a nationally recognized expert on youth and young adults transitioning from foster care to adulthood. A licensed clinician, author, and former nonprofit executive, she brings more than 25 years of leadership in child welfare and human services, including leading a residential group care agency. Her experience gives her a firsthand understanding of both the organizational demands facing leaders and the daily realities of staff supporting young people with complex needs.
Dr. Wynter partners with state agencies and organizations across the country to strengthen youth and family engagement—from frontline relationships and everyday interactions to organizational policy and practice. She is the author of Follow the Love: Permanent Connections Scaffolding, led the development of the LifeLaunch Youth and Family Engagement Guide in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health, and launched National Foster Youth Voice Month to elevate young people’s voices and influence practice nationwide.
Dr. Wynter helps organizations move beyond simply asking young people for input to creating cultures in which they feel heard, valued, connected, and empowered—and where staff have practical tools to make that happen every day.
